I am writing to ask you to support the expansion of I-77 south of Uptown. Traffic solutions are needed now. As you know, CRTPO will vote on the proposed expansion of I-77 south of Uptown on September 23, 2026, marking a critical decision for the future of transportation and mobility in our region. 160,000 vehicles per day travel the critical transportation corridor Travel times can be nearly an hour at certain times during the day Safety first – Crash rates for this segment are 2.5 x higher than the statewide average for urban interstates A better flow of traffic south of uptown benefits everyone. If the project does not proceed, the $600 million in state funds currently committed will be redistributed to other projects across North Carolina with no guarantee they remain in the Charlotte region. In addition, our region would lose more than $100 million in repayments and forfeiture of other allocation funds. Support the expansion of I-77 south of uptown and keep Charlotte moving!
